Every year during this season, the Quarry puts a special focus on generosity. We take a unique offering called “Compassion at Christmas” for the purpose of helping our ministry partners around the world or specific needs right here in Monticello.
Each year we take a special, sacrificial offering that is dedicated to bless specific ministries. This year we will divide this gift between 1) New Life Church in Cherkassy, Ukraine; 2) Options for Women – Cornerstone a pregnancy resource center and 3) Kristin Wolford-Santana, one of own our who is a missionary in the Dominican Republic.
Why do we give? Because God has blessed us to be a blessing. These three ministries continue to do tremendous work in their communities but they need our help to press on. On December 17th, we will be collecting our Compassion at Christmas Offering at all 3 services. Our goal is to raise $15,000. Let’s leverage the “power of us” and catalyze the ministry of our brothers and sisters right next door and around the world. Together, we can meet the very real need through a compassionate gift this Christmas.
I’m not talking about slipping $20 in a basket. I’m asking for a one-time, sacrificial gift above and beyond your regular giving to the Quarry. This is going to hurt a little but it is right and good. Please, prayerfully consider what you can generously give. I look forward to how God will continue to use us to build his Kingdom, not only in Monticello but also around the world.
In the love of Jesus, Pastor Michael Grose
“Command those who are rich in this present world … to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”
