Next Meeting Is June 14
QSM is now on a summer schedule. We will not have activities every week, but interspersed through the summer months. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 14, 6:30-8:45pm. Get complete schedule online here: bit.ly/QSMsummer17
The purpose of Quarry Student Ministries (QSM) is to glorify God by reaching students with the gospel and encouraging them to develop a real and growing relationship with Jesus.
QSM is a ministry where students are truly changed by God’s love and the friends they meet. We are committed to helping students develop a real and growing relationship with their heavenly Father. And it’s out of that relationship that their lives would positively impact those around them.
While we offer large group teaching and worship, one of the key ways we accomplish this is through our Cell Groups. Cell Groups are smaller groups of students with adult leaders who meet each week to support one another and grow together. Senior High Cell Groups are student-led using a coaching model that trains and empowers students to lead now and in the future.
Students are encouraged to invite their friends to come be a part of what they are experiencing. Through this simple act of inviting we have watched Cells grow and eventually multiply (like cells in a human body). Relationship with God and others is central to what we do.
Students also enjoy larger events throughout the year including our annual Winter Retreat, a weekend getaway at a beautiful camp that offers winter sports activities and has been a significant turning point for many students. There are also opportunities for single-day outings designed for fun and serving in the community (which is also fun). In the summer we offer Mission Trips at both the Middle School and High School levels.
A quick peek into our weekly Wednesday evening gatherings…
- A social time to just hangout at our Snack Shack café or join in organized games (dodge ball, kickball, etc.), foosball, Ping-Pong, and air hockey.
- A short time of worship and teaching
- Cell Groups times… where kids meet to discuss God, life, and all things important (Middle School and High School students meet separately in regular, ongoing groups)
Extra Information for Parents
Students in QSM are led by energetic and caring Adult Leaders who love Jesus. They are volunteers who have committed to attend regular development training as well as give of their time and experience to mentor and guide your kids. They know that parents are the most important people in students’ lives, and want to support you in that role (many are parents themselves).
Both Middle and High School Cell Groups have Adult Leaders who are investing into the lives of your kids. We want you to be comfortable with them contacting your son or daughter (phone, text, Facebook, etc.) as they look to encourage them through the week.
We work to provide a safe, fun environment on Wednesdays and in our off-site events. We are committed to continuous responsible adult supervision of all activities and events. The Quarry conducts background checks on all adult volunteers. We require students to stay within the bounds of behavioral rules and spaces. With over 100 students attending Wednesday evenings it is important that students do not leave our property (within our program times) without our knowledge of parental consent.
