Trusting God in Uncertainty | A Testimony of Faith & Provision
In this powerful testimony, hear how one family remained faithful in tithing after experiencing job loss—and how God provided for them in ways they never expected.
We believe that everyone matters, and that includes the people around us who don't know Jesus yet. This February we will be launching a generosity initiative to change the culture of our church and fund our ministry here in Monticello. Making Room includes all ministry initiatives for the next two years. Instead of giving to different categories (operations, capital fund, or compassion ministry), we will combine everything - resourcing our ongoing ministry activities and optimizing our campus for future outreach to our community.
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Join us as we step into a season of generosity together as a church, as the hands and feet of Jesus, and as part of this community.
I am so honored to be a part of this people called Quarry. Together, with all the saints, we are the body of Christ. When the body functions as God intends, as one unit with Jesus as the head, we will leave the 99 and go after the one. We will die and consider it gain. We will leverage all that God has given us to make room for those on the outside looking in. That’s the church. That’s who we are. We need you. We need each other. Following God’s lead, make a commitment and together, we will make room for the Kingdom of God to grow here in Monticello.
Monticello is growing, with new housing developments, restaurants, and an expanded highway paving the way for more families to move into our city. The community is preparing for growth—and so should we. As a church, we have an incredible opportunity to make room in every way: physically, by creating spaces for people to gather; relationally, by fostering connections that show the love of Christ; and spiritually, by reaching out to these new families with the hope of the Gospel. Let’s step into this season of growth with faith and readiness, trusting that God will use us to make a lasting impact.
Making Room is first and foremost a discipleship initiative. We’re all at different points moving toward restoration. We want to learn new things about God and about ourselves. We want every single person at Quarry to be willing to take a next step of growth in this area of generosity.
Whether you’ve never given anything before, whether you’re an infrequent contributor, or whether you’re a consistent and thoughtful giver, there is a next step God is asking you to take in this journey.
Our secondary goal is monetary. This is a ONE FUND initiative, so the amount includes our total ministry fund for the next two years (Making Room for Ministry), and an expansion for our continued vision to reach out to more people (Making Room for Kingdom Growth).
If 100% of people at Quarry get fully engaged, we expect to see an increase in generosity like we’ve never seen before.
You may have been part of church campaigns in the past where you were asked to give a second gift “above and beyond” your usual gifts to complete special projects. At the Quarry, these have been used to make new buildings and ministries possible. Normally, you gave that gift to the “Building Fund” and you also continued to give your tithe to the “General Fund.” This type of giving is potentially confusing to people who either don’t have a baseline for their “usual giving” or who aren’t able to really celebrate the total giving at Quarry in one single number. We believe we’re all on ONE MISSION—to passionately share the message of Jesus Christ and lead people to follow Him.
The Making Room Initiative will last two years. In those two years, every gift given to Quarry will go to the Making Room Initiative—to help us in Making Room for Ministry, and for Kingdom Growth.
