History.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2001 - The date of the grand opening of Quarry Community Church was Sunday, September 9, 2001 at Monticello Middle School. We had a wonderful Sunday with 440 people at our 10:00 a.m. service.

Church Affiliation.

Quarry Church is affiliated with an organization called Converge. Converge (formerly known as the Baptist General Conference) is a movement of churches working to help people meet, know and follow Jesus. We do this by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide. For 170 years Converge has helped churches bring life change to communities in the U.S. and around the world through church planting and multiplication, leadership training and global missions.

Church Governance.

Quarry Community Church practices congregational polity which means that real authority is vested in our members. Participating members have an equal voice and vote in:

  • the selection, appointment and, if necessary, removal of governing board members and the lead pastor;
  • the purchase of real property;
  • the annual budget, which determines how the church will carry out its mission for the year.

Participating members delegate authority, through the selection of governing board members and pastoral staff, who are responsible to oversee the fulfillment of our mission – to help people develop an intimate and contagious relationship with Jesus.
