SEASONS GREETINGS QUARRY FAMILY!

Brenda and I recently returned from a brief trip to spend time with our children in Seattle. Sitting in a Korean restaurant, eating great food with wonderful people, we reflected on how blessed we are. We have each other, our family, caring friends and a passionate church community. Even more, we have a Savior who lavishes his love upon us, covers our sin with his grace and invites us to join him in the care and love of his world.

One of the ways the Quarry has consistently joined God over the years, is by blessing others through our annual Compassion at Christmas Offering (CCO). Each year we sacrificially give, above our usual tithe, to meet the very real needs of others. This year the Governing Board has prayerfully determined that the recipients of our CCO will go to Ramas Vivas and The Monticello Help Center.

Ramas Vivas is a long-time friend of the Quarry. In 2012, Kristin Wolford moved from St. Michael, MN, to the Dominican Republic for the purpose of discipling and empowering young adults to serve others in the name of Jesus. With God’s favor, Kristin’s passion has grown into Ramas Vivas. For over a decade, Ramas Vivas has faithfully equipped young leaders to be effective ministers of the gospel to thousands of children. It is our privilege to coming alongside this powerful ministry.

The Monticello Help Center is our local, free, food and clothing pantry. For over 47 years, the Help Center has partnered with local groups to eliminate hunger and provide hope to the people in our community. This year, through your generous gift, we will bless hundreds of people right here in Monticello.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 above and beyond our regular monthly giving. This is an “all hands on deck” request. I’m asking you to seriously pray about your gift. Think sacrificial. Think about making a Kingdom difference. Think about bringing glory to God. If you’re married, talk to your spouse. If you have children, include them in your conversation and show them how to live generously. Most importantly, talk to God and cheerfully give as he leads you.

The Compassion at Christmas Offering will be received during our Christmas Eve services. You can also give via our website, our app or simply give now and select "Compassion" as the fund. I am so grateful to be part of a church that is missional to its core.  You are the church Quarry!

 Merry Christmas!

Pastor Michael

Command those who are rich in this present world … to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. ~ 1 Timothy 6:17-19
